Profile

Prof. Hirono obtained undergraduate degree at the department of History and Philosophy of Science, the University of Tokyo, by research of animal mechanism, focusing Descartes in 1983. Then he studies evolutionary ecology and obtained master degree (1985) and doctoral degree (1990) at the Graduate School of Science, the University of Tokyo by investigation of lower temite (Hodotermopsis sjostdi) caste system. Now he is interested in history, philosophy and ethics of envronment, especially bioregionalism and river-system.
